No Trans Fats, Fewer Heart Problems
Since the Food and Drug Administration cracked down on trans fats, statistics published in JAMA Cardiology. show that there have been fewer heart attacks. In fact there has been 43 fewer heart attacks and strokes per 100,000 people.
Trans fats, which were once used to make most fast food, junk food and other grocery items, began receiving tougher scrutiny in 2007.
